Through investment from SEP, Matchesfashion grew over 5 years to become one of the world’s leading luxury online retailers, engaging with its customers online and via its app, delivering to over 176 countries worldwide. Our investment supported Matchesfashion to successfully transition from a bricks and mortar to an international omni channel retailer. This funding enabled significant investment in operations, technology and infrastructure and fuelled a 15x increase in online revenues, particularly in the UK, US, Middle East and Asia. We worked closely with founders Tom and Ruth Chapman to expand the senior leadership team, ahead of the sale of the business to Apax Partners in 2017 for an undisclosed valuation.
