SEP’s Dotmatics joins forces with Insightful Science
SEP is pleased to announce that Dotmatics, recently named one of the fastest-growing privately-owned companies in the UK, has agreed to join forces with US based Insightful Science.
Dotmatics, which is headquartered in Bishop Stortford, is an enterprise scientific informatics SaaS provider, driving the digitalisation of laboratory data workflows for scientific discovery and innovation across the life sciences, chemicals and materials industries. SEP invested in Dotmatics in 2017 and is its largest shareholder. The company has grown strongly since then, extending its market share, growing its revenue strongly and trebling headcount to 300 employees.
The deal, which is subject to US regulatory approval, creates a market-leading life sciences discovery informatics business, incorporating the Dotmatics small molecule and enterprise cloud platform with Insightful Science’s large molecule and analytics applications.
The acquisition by Insightful Science provides SEP with an excellent return on its investment, as well as the opportunity to rollover part of its stake into the combined business.
