SEP announces successful exit of Peppermint Technology

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has completed the successful exit of Peppermint Technology, an innovative provider of technology solutions tailored to law firms and a valued Microsoft partner, through its sale to Litera, a worldwide leader in legal technology solutions.
Following investment from SEP, Peppermint has transformed the legal technology landscape by providing cloud-based applications that help law firms modernise, transform, and grow.
Under the leadership of CEO Gary Young, Peppermint has successfully executed its growth strategy, focusing on delivering a fully integrated suite of legal applications built on Microsoft technology enabling lawyers and firms to efficiently manage tasks, collaborate across teams and practice groups, and make data-driven decisions that drive the business.
"The partnership with SEP has been transformative for Peppermint, enabling us to evolve into a leading provider of modern legal technology solutions," said Gary Young, "Their strategic support has been instrumental in our international expansion and development of our cloud-based platform. This transaction with Litera marks an exciting new chapter in Peppermint's journey, building on our unique position as Microsoft's only legal-focused independent software business globally, and our strong presence in both the UK and US markets."
During its investment period, SEP supported Peppermint to scale sustainably embedding robust ESG practices, establish international delivery partnerships, and expand into North America.
Paul Neeson, a Director at SEP said: "We are pleased to have supported Peppermint on its growth journey and to help it succeed in a market that was primed for disruption. Our investment in the company is consistent with our broader strategy of investing in high-quality B2B enterprise software companies. This successful exit demonstrates the continued strong interest in innovative enterprise software solutions from both strategic buyers and private equity investors."
The acquisition by Litera positions Peppermint for its next phase of growth while reinforcing SEP's track record of successfully scaling technology businesses in the legal sector.
